Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my auction!! Item up for bid is a used Ericsson EFC11 Fiber cleaver. This cleaver is designed to work with the Ericsson line of Fusion splicers, but can be used to cleave any fiber for splicing or fusion . Item is fully functional, cleaves very well and has normal wear on fiber holder grooves ,some external scratches and stains on case, etc. The Ericsson EFC11 Electronic Fiber Cleaver is designed to give you better performance in the lab or in the field. Every cleave is substantially less than one degree, with single-mode and multimode fiber.Operation is simple. A stripped fiber is placed in specially designed low torsion V-groove clamps. Constant axial tension is then applied to the fiber with the flip of a lever. Cleaving is initiated by releasing another lever. This revolutionary cleaving technique produces superb planar fiber ends of mirror quality. The patented anvil-less ultrasonic cleaving action minimizes fiber end contamination, hackle, and misting.A precision ground diamond blade is attached to a resonant acoustic stepped horn. The ultrasonic horn resonance is maintained by an electronic circuit for the duration of the cleave and then automatically terminated to preserve battery life. The ultrasonically vibrating blade moves slowly toward the tensioned fiber on frictionless damped bearings. Cleaving then takes place without the damage from compressive stresses and blade intrusion into the fiber that is typical of conventional cleavers. The adjustable diamond blade normally gives > 20,000 cleaves.
