FLUKE MODEL 650 LAN CABLE METER A backbone instrument for the network cabling industry, this reliable instrument can test and certify 10 Base 2, 10 Base 5 and 10 Base T ethernet cable installations. • Test for properly wired cables and map the wiring structure. • Test for cable length and proper termination. • Monitor network traffic for packet collision. • Monitor for electrical noise upon the cable. • Test for attenuation of the network signal. In 10 Base T cable installations it can test and certify to the following standards: Category 3, Category 4 and Category 5 SPECIFICATIONS LAN Input Connections: • RJ45 – Ethernet 10BaseT and Token Ring IBM Type 3 • BNC – Thinnet (automatic 50Ω termination) Accuracy: • UTP Cable: 6m to 600m – 1% of reading + 0.6m • Coaxial Cable: Accuracy: 6m to 1200m – 1% of reading + 0.6m Cable Termination Identification: 50Ω, 75Ω or 93Ω Cable Types: 12 Standard Types – 4 Custom Types (configurable by user) Printer Output Interface: RS-232C DB9P – configured as DTE, 1200 to 19200, 8 bits No parity 2 Stop bits. Power Supply: 2 @ 9 volt batteries or AC adapter.
